For decades sexuality educators of color have been expected to utilize evidence-based curricula and other approved activities that do not always meet the needs of the populations we serve. Contrary to an exclusive evidence-based focus and white supremacist ableist heterosexist practices that have been embedded in traditional curricula, WOCSHN believes in centering the bodies and experiences of queer and disabled communities of color as being valuable and integral parts of collective healing and learning. Using gender-neutral language, avoiding ableist language and activities, centering bodies of color, and focusing on pleasure for bodies of color are more ways this curriculum is a radical addition to the sexuality education curricula available.

Abeni Jones was the designer of the curriculum and also contributed a three-part lesson plan to the curriculum: “How to Take Care of Each Other: Community Care in Times of Crisis.” More information about that workshop is here.

The WOCSHN Curriculum sells for $50 for individuals and $125 for organizations. Please e-mail Abeni at to purchase.
